Kai-Hua Cheng

Designer
Kai-Hua brings an international aesthetic in her ongoing effort to produce beautiful products. An illustrator, animator, and Flash designer who is fluent in English, French, Taiwanese, and Mandarin, she spends most of her time at Native Instinct sitting in front of her computer, inventing.

Before joining Native Instinct, Kai-Hua was an animator at Sayer Animation Studies in Taiwan, working on projects for Disney; at Fable Visions Studios in Boston; and at SustainLane, where she was a lead animator involved in creating the look and feel for The Unsustainables, an animated series that appeared in 2007 on the Web and on Comcast’s Green Scene, and also contributing to the graphic design of SustainLane’s Web site. At Native Instinct, she developed an animated interface for an instant messaging application for Adaptive Engineering and has worked on a variety of other projects for Wells Fargo, Halogen Guides, and other clients.

A native of Keelung, Taiwan, Kai-Hua has a master’s in illustration from Ecole Supérieure des Arts-décoratifs de Strasbourg, France. In her spare time, she can be found training her pet bird, illustrating children’s books, and designing lampshades.
