Jim Granger

Creative Director
Jim wears many hats at Native Instinct, and not always to keep his head from getting sunburned. As Creative Director, Jim’s job is akin to being a shepherd—making sure that good ideas are encouraged and that our talented teams of user experience designers, graphic designers, writers, and animators have a safe, green pasture to play in.

Jim is a veteran creative whose experience includes designing for print, television, and all forms of electronic media. Prior to joining Native Instinct, Jim was an interaction designer and project manager at Sony Electronics’ Design Center, where his projects included the design and development of the interactive TV experience deployed by Cablevision (winner of the first-ever national Emmy Award for interactive television). Jim was also a principle at eyeTV, a design firm with a wide range of corporate and entertainment clients that included ABC, NBC, HBO, Bank of America, Citibank, Oracle, and more.

A founding principle of Native Instinct, Jim has worked on high-level projects for Cyworld, Salesforce.com, Pure Digital’s theflip.com, The Home Depot, T-Mobile, Virgin Charter, and Wells Fargo. Jim holds two patents for the development of interactive TV navigational interfaces and has won numerous awards for interaction design and motion graphics. He has not, however, been named one of San Francisco’s best-dressed men—an oversight that puzzles him.
