We are looking for an Information Architect/UI Designer Contractor to assist us on multiple projects. This is a 4-6 week contract position with potential to become a longer engagement or employee position. This person will work with Native Instinct’s Creative Director and Director of Information Architecture to:

• Organize and design new Web sites and interactive products
• Document designs with detailed site maps annotated wireframes
• Perform Task analysis and create user scenarios
• Write Usability test plans
• Write functional specifications

Requirements

• At least one year as an Information Architect or UI Designer. Background as a graphic designer or as a software programmer is ok, but experience focusing exclusively on UI design and user experience design is required.
• Must have experience working on e-commerce or similar complex user experiences. Be prepared to show us wireframes you’ve done, and walk us through a live Web site you’ve architected.
• Understanding of consumer user interface design, good graphic design, Web technologies, and the software development process
• Understanding of HTML, CSS, AJAX, Flash, and database capabilities and how these are used to create interactive user experiences.
• Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, MS Excel, Word and Powerpoint. Knowledge of Visio, Omnigraffle, or Filemaker Pro good to have.
• Comfortable interacting one-on-one with clients and making presentations to clients. Ability to define a solution, the rationale behind the solution, and defend that solution to others.
