Licensing
LPSI currently operates under a licensing exemption, specifically the Recreation Program Exemption found in California Health and Safety Code Section 1596.792(g). While this means our facility, program and staff have not been formally inspected and approved by the state licensing agency, Community Care Licensing, we developed our program in consultation with them and keep them informed of our operations. Though not legally required, where practical and reasonable, we endeavor to meet or exceed standards applicable to licensed California preschools. Please don't hesitate to contact us with any questions regarding this matter. We have recently submitted an application for a Child Care Center License and hope to complete the process by late 2008 or early 2009.
*Pursuant to California law, each child participating in the Spazio Gioco Play Group must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who remains present for the duration of each 2-hour session. Nannies, sitters and non-parent family members may accompany a child if a notarized guardianship form has been provided. No share-care arrangements are allowed.
